Mountain Gazette is a large-format magazine, more like a coffee table book than a regular magazine I'd like to have an issue or two to see what it's all about. It publishes twice/year and is $35/issue or $70 for a 1-year subscription.

Anson Mills in South Carolina grows heirloom variety beans and grains. I got some for Christmas a couple years back, and would love some more. The minimum order is 4 packages. My 4 picks are Carolina Gold Rice, Farro Medio, Farro Piccolo, and Sea Island Red Peas.

Another gourmet nerdy food gift request. :-) Rancho Gordo in California grows heirloom beans and has lots of rare varieties. I'd like to try 1 or 2 or 3 packages (please not all of them, that would be too many!). Here are some of the varieties I'm interested in: Borlotti Lamon, Christmas Lima Bean, Marcella Bean, Mayocoba Bean, Royal Corona Bean, and Snowcap Bean. What's in stock changes pretty often, so any of these would be great, and probably any others they sell would be great too.
